Information About

Hatfield And The North

Hatfield and the North is a experimental rock band (part of the " Canterbury Scene ") that lasted from October 1972 to June 1975, with some get-togethers thereafter. The original members were Phil Miller (guitar, from Matching Mole and Delivery), Richard Sinclair (bass and vocals, from Caravan ), Pip Pyle (drums, from Delivery) and Dave Sinclair (keyboards, from Matching Mole and Caravan ); Dave Sinclair was quickly replaced by Dave Stewart (from Egg ) before the first recordings were made.

In March 1990, the group very briefly reformed with Phil Miller, Richard Sinclair, Pip Pyle, and Sophia Domancich (keyboards); in January 2005, it reformed again with Alex Maguire replacing Sophia Domancich.

In 2005, the band released an archive collection for the British record label Burning Shed .
They reformed to perform several concerts with the original line-up except for Dave Stewart who was replaced by Alex Maguire.from Pip Pyle's group "Bash".
