While its official geographic name is Harper, the community is also called Harper Road and is located southwest of the village of Tignish . Harper was named after local settler William Harper who inhabited Peterville in the 19th Century . He is also credited with naming Harper's Brook, a stream which runs from Tignish to Deblois . The Harper Road hosts the communities of Harper, Leoville , and Palmer Road with a combined population of approximately 150 residents. |
