Hanford High School is located in Richland , Washington . The school's mascot is the ''Falcon'', and its school colors are purple and gold. Originally, the High School , built in 1972 , was part of a K-12 complex, which included an elementary and junior high (later a middle school). The elementary school was closed in the mid-1980's in the light of budget cuts in the Richland School District , and the middle school was closed in 2005 when Enterprise Middle School was opened in West Richland in the same year. As of early 2006, Hanford High School is currently undergoing an expansion and remodling project, along with Richland High School . ACADEMICS Hanford High emphasizes academics and is generally considered to be the top public high school in all of southeastern Washington of 3A size. The school's WASL and Iowa Standard Test scores annually rank among the statewide leaders, and Hanford High has often led the area. |
