Home & Garden Television, better known as '''HGTV''', is a Cable Television Network in the U.S. Programming consists of numerous Home and Garden improvement, maintenance, renovation, and remodeling shows.

Like its sister networks ( DIY Network , Fine Living , Food Network , and Great American Country ), HGTV is owned by The E. W. Scripps Company , in the USA.

There is a Canadian version of the channel ( HGTV Canada ) which has slightly different programming, which adheres to Can-con rules, and is owned and operated by Alliance Atlantis .

In the United States, the network sponsors the annual HGTV Dream Home project house and contest.

HGTV HD

HGTV HD is a High Definition simulcast of HGTV. It is scheduled to launch sometime in 2006. Thus far only Verizon 's FiOS TV has agreed to carry the channel.
