In 2005 , Itzin joined the cast of '' 24 '' in a recurring role as Charles Logan, then- Vice President . He became President after President Keeler was critically injured in a plane crash. As of season 5 ( 2006 ), Itzin is a main cast member with Logan still the President. Itzin has held recurring roles on popular TV series such as '''', '' The Practice '' and the short-lived science fiction series, '' Firefly ''. Itzin is also a frequent '''' episode " Dax ".
