The town is famous for its Chautauqua cultural events and its old Amusement Park . Clara Barton , founder of the American Red Cross , lived in Glen Echo the last 15 years of her life. GEOGRAPHY Glen Echo is located at 38°58'7" North, 77°8'33" West (38.968710, -77.142451). According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 0.3 Km&2 (0.1 Mi&2 ). 0.3 km&2 (0.1 mi&2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
