Information About

Gina G

CAREER

Gina G first found fame in the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest when she came eighth with her song "''Ooh Aah... Just A little Bit''". However when she released the single in the United Kingdom , the country she represented in the contest, it went to number one in the UK Singles Chart . It also had continued success across the world. It was followed by another global top ten smash "I Belong To You". However, she later collapsed on a flight to Glasgow , and was subsequently dogged by rumours of Drug Abuse .

In the late 1990s she released the songs "Fresh!", "Ti Amo", "Gimme Some Love" and "Everytime I Fall", all of which charted and were included on her best-selling debut album.

After the successful singles, she disappeared from the big stage for several years. A long lawsuit against a former manager took all her energy, and despite the fact that a lot of new music was recorded, she did not make any releases for a while. By 2000 she recorded a number of songs with Swedish producers Lagoona , including a new version of her major hit "''Ooh aah... Just a little bit''"; and a cover of Nancy Sinatra 's " These Boots Are Made For Walking ". "Boots" was released as a CD single through a small independent label, but the release didn't attract any major attention.

After this quiet period, Gina G returned to the spotlight in March 2003 , when she took part in the reality television show Reborn In The USA , alongside the likes of Sonia , Michelle Gayle , Tony Hadley , Peter Cox and Elkie Brooks . Even though she received the most votes from the American audience and won the first show, she got the least in the next show, and went up for the British public's vote. She lost, and was eliminated from the show in the third programme.

On 4 February 2005 , an announcement finally confirmed the persistent rumours that Gina was in the running to represent the UK for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest . On 5 March 2005, she competed against Katie Price (a.k.a. Jordan), a fellow reality TV star and one of Britain's most successful topless models, as well as Javine , Andy Scott-Lee and the group Tricolore in ''Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up'' to represent the UK. A public vote chose Javine as the winner, with Gina G receiving the fewest votes.

Gina G Married Charlie Watson on 7 December 2003 .
