''Ghost Whisperer'' is an American Television Drama about a young woman who can communicate with the spirits of the dead. The show was created by John Gray and stars Jennifer Love Hewitt , Aisha Tyler , and David Conrad . ''Ghost Whisperer'' began airing on Fridays in fall 2005 , on CBS and CTV . Since November 2005, it can be seen on Sony Entertainment Television in Latin America . The series is based on the work of James Van Praagh , who is a co- Executive Producer and posts to a Blog about the show hosted by CBS. ''Ghost Whisperer'' was initially looked on with scorn and criticism by fans of '' Joan Of Arcadia '', which was cancelled after only two seasons. Nevertheless, it has become one of CBS' top-rated shows. CBS renewed ''Ghost Whisperer'' for another season. According to the network, the show has helped vault CBS into a position of primetime leadership on Friday in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, while widening the Network's lead in viewers from last season {Link without Title} .
