George Walton Comprehensive High School

George Walton Comprehensive High School, commonly known as just "Walton," is a rather unique insititution in Cobb County in that it has written its own charter which allows for a program known as the Wednesday Enrichment Block, or W.E.B. Wednesday. On Wednesdays, classes are shorter and the regular classes hours finish around 12:30 P.M. to allow students time to meet with teachers, study, or go home, should they choose.

Walton is home to the Raiders, who won the first two All-Sports trophies in Georgia history, have won several High Q competitions, and seven consecutive Volleyball championships. In recent years, they have won state championships in girl's and men's Tennis , girl's Cross Country , and men's soccer. Renowned throughout the state for both academic and athletic excellence, Walton High School was named in 1999 as the fifth best high school in the nation by U.S. News & World Report .

Famous alumni include Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes and Blaine Boyer of the Atlanta Braves .
