The Right Honourable Sir George Halsey Perley, PC ( September 12 1857 – January 4 1938 ) was a Canadian politician. Perley was a wealthy scion of an Ottawa lumber family. He was first elected to the Canadian House Of Commons as a Conservative MP in 1904 and served as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Minister of the Overseas Military Forces in the World War I government of Sir Robert Borden . He subsequently served as Secretary Of State For Canada in the 1926 government of Arthur Meighen and Minister Without Portfolio in the government of R.B. Bennett . EXTERNAL LINKS |
