General Santos City ('''GenSan''' for short) is a 1st class City in the Province of South Cotabato , Philippines . It is bordered by Mount Matutum and Mount Magolo on the north, and Sarangani Bay to the south. The city has a land area of 492.86 square kilometers, with a population of 327,123 in 1995 . According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 411,822 people in 86,595 households.
