The General Convention of the Episcopal Church In The United States Of America is its primary governing and legislative body.
The convention is held every three years. It comprises two houses: the House of Bishops, made up of the all the bishops of the U.S. Diocese s, and the House of Deputies, consisting of up to four Laity and four Clergy representatives from each diocese. Resolutions must be passed by both houses for approval. In the house of deputies, clergy and lay delegates vote separately.
