The team plays at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois and set a Frontier League record for attendance in 2003 with 168,067 fans. The Grizzlies entered the league in 2001 and won their first league championship in 2003, defeating the Evansville Otters in three straight games including a twelve inning victory in the final game. Previously, the Grizzles swept the Washington Wild Things in the first round of the Frontier League playoffs. The Grizzlies may be best known for inventing and selling "Baseball's Best Burger" -- a Bacon Cheeseburger with Krispy Kreme Donuts instead of a bun. EXTERNAL LINKS |
