Gastón Gaudio (born December 9 , 1978 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ), nicknamed '''''El Gato''''' (''The Cat'' in Spanish ), is a professional Tennis player from Argentina . A Clay Court specialist, he won the Roland Garros Men's Singles title in 2004 by defeating compatriot Guillermo Coria 0-6 3-6 6-4 6-1 8-6 in an unprecedented all-Argentinean final; Gaudio was not seeded in the tournament. As a result of this victory he reached the top 10 in the ATP entry rankings for the first time.

Gaudio's best stroke is his one-handed backhand, which has been praised by Guillermo Vilas .
