GT Interactive was an American Video Game Developer founded in 1993 and headquartered in New York City . It was bought by French company Infogrames Entertainment SA (IESA) in 1999 .

Following its purchase by IESA, GT Interactive was renamed Infogrames, Inc. and became the official North American subsidiary of the company. In 2001 Infogrammes absorbed Hasbro Interactive , owner of the Atari Brand . As of October 2001, Infogrames, Inc. started releasing random games under the Atari name.

Infogrames, Inc. was subsequently renamed ''' Atari, Inc. ''' in 2003 , and continues to operate under the brand to this day.
