The GTD Hades was a secret development project initiated by GTI (Galactic Terran Intelligence), a rogue branch of the GTA that aimed to topple the GTA interim government in Delta Serpentis. The GTD Hades was later destroyed in a battle between GTA forces and GTI defectors. The GTI branch was later dissolved and all involved operatives were imprisoned. The GTI had captured a number of Shivan specimens during its rebellion and also integrated Terran and reverse-engineered Shivan technologies. Thus they conceived the Hades, a large vessel, based on Terran and Shivan technology; similar in size to the SD Lucifer of the Shivans, it is the only known Terran constructed vessel to be classed as a superdestroyer, i.e. not a destroyer, but not a juggernaut.
