GTCv Deimos is the designation of a class of Corvette s in the space combat simulator Freespace 2 . It is the Terran Capital Ship featured on the Freespace 2 dust jacket, and is one of the most frequently encountered capital ships throughout the main campaign. DEVELOPMENT AND CAPABILITIES Developed by the GTVA after the Great War, Deimos is the latest addition to the Terran fleet, and the first class of warships to incorporate the new class of Beam Weapons adapted from the Shivans . It has strong armor, relatively good maneuverability and very strong anti-fighter defense. With several Flak Turrets , Piranha anti-fighter missile launchers and anti-fighter beams, Deimos is quite capable of surviving even heavy bomber attacks on its own, while maintaining substantial anti-capital ship capability. |
