The architecture was originally engineered by Holden of Australia and was to debut in 2004 with the 2005 Opel Insignia . The future of the Zeta architecture stalled in March, 2005, when Robert Lutz reportedly directed work on the platform and related vehicles in North America to cease. Gene Stefanyshyn, product line manager for Zeta, cancelled his plans to relocate to Australia at that time. This work has since resumed and, according to the Detroit Free Press , cars off this platform will be available to the North American market starting in 2008 or 2009. The Zeta was reportedly reengineered to reduce cost, with MacPherson Strut s used in front. This new Zeta was used for the Chevrolet Camaro Concept Car shown at the North American International Auto Show in January, 2006 . Demonstrating a commitment to the platform, GM will now relocate Stefanyshyn as planned. VEHICLES Future vehicles using this platform:
