Futuremark® Corporation is a software development company, based primarily in Finland, that produces Computer Benchmark applications for home users and businesses. BRIEF HISTORY Founded in 1997 as "Futuremark", the company is the leading producer of Computer Benchmark applications in the world. It's software is used by over 250 computer magazines, the company's software has been equally successful within the gaming community, high scores in it's 3DMark benchmarks are considered bragging rights among hardcore computer gamers who use it as a way to gauge their computer's performance to that of their friends. Soon after being founded the company altered it's trading name to "MadOnion.com™" until finally settling on "Futuremark® Corporation" in 2002. Today, it develops tools for BAPCo as well as its own industry-leading benchmarking programs; their 3DMark series has been the most popular and successful to date. Futuremark's application are distributed by online methods as well as permanent media; in addition to the above benchmarks, the company also provides services such as IHV/ISV customised benchmarks, 3D demos, plus online and data services.
