Friezland is a small village, which is situated four miles east of the town of Oldham , Greater Manchester , England . It is one of the villages in the Saddleworth area, part of Metropolitan Borough Of Oldham , and lies between the villages of Grasscroft and Mossley . Friezland is situated on the banks of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal , and has a church and a primary school. It is also the original home of Friezland Brass Band , conducted by one of the few female brass conductors in the UK , Lana Clough .
