He was a member of Massacre (1980-81), the 1980s group, Scritti Politti , and is best known as the producer of Lou Reed 's album, ''New York'' (1989), Matthew Sweet 's album ''Girlfriend'' (1991), and Information Society 's self titled album (1988, which achieved platinum sales status).
