Formula Renault is a racing class founded in 1971 popular in Europe and a few countries in the rest of the world. It is a form of Formula Racing , where the cars are Open-wheeler cars built to a specification. In Formula Renault, the cars are all Tatuus made chassis running 2.0-litre Renault Clio Street car engines with mild modification bolted to a Formula Three gearbox. It is regarded as an entry-level series to Motor Racing . It is a respected series where drivers can learn advanced racecraft before moving on to Formula Three , GP2 , or Formula One .
