In 1975 Foote Hospital merged with Mercy Hospital operated by the sisters of mercy. Several years later it was suggested that the two nearby hospitals combine into one unit to become a state of the art facility. The new facilty was completed in 1983 sitting at the bottom of the hill from the original hospital, a tunnel was constructed to connect the modern and old facility together. Today Foote Hospital is a state of the art facility with seven floors in the main facilty and 411 beds. The old facility now named the anderson building is still used for specialized practices such as a sleep disorder center, adolescent & geriatric psychiatric unit and specialized psychiatric services. Apart from the main campus Foote Hospital also includes two other units added on a few years ago that include a radiation onconolgy center and foote health center. Specialized services of Foote Hospital include a level II emergency room, urgent care centers, and a Hospice program. The Foote Health System as a whole offer community-based services that include a home care agency and a network of primary care physicians. It also serves the area with an amblance service. As a regional healthcare provider Foote Hospital is active in a large number of health service areas including Pain Management, Behavioral Health and operates centers focusing on Family Birthing, Cancer/Oncology and Diabetes EXTERNAL LINKS |
