The Flin Flon Bombers are a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) team based in Flin Flon, Manitoba , Canada . The franchise has existed for more than 70 years, churning out future NHL players such as Bobby Clarke , Reggie Leach , Gerry Hart , Ken Baumgartner and Mel Pearson . Clad in their familiar colors of maroon and white, the Bombers host their opponents at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon, often cited as the most enthusiastic rink in the SJHL. They won the Memorial Cup in 1957 , defeating the Ottawa Jr. Canadiens . The Bombers played in the Western Hockey League from 1968 to 1978 , whereupon that edition of the franchise moved to Edmonton, Alberta to play as the second edition of the Edmonton Oil Kings . They folded in the mid-80's as the Great Falls Americans .
