Bhutto is the daughter of the late Murtaza Bhutto , who was killed in a controversial shoot-out by the Pakistani police in 1996 in Karachi , during the premiership of his own sister, Benazir Bhutto . Fatima Bhutto's book deals with this tragedy. She is the grand-daughter of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto , who was overthrown and hanged by General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq , after a military coup. Bhutto is presently a student at Columbia University in the United States , and also studied at the Karachi American School . She is Ghinwa Bhutto's step-daughter. |
