Fa Cup Final

The FA Cup Final is the last match in the FA Cup , the oldest Football tournament in the world. It is the culmination of a knockout competition between clubs belonging to The Football Association in England .

Early FA Cup Finals were held at a number of venues, mainly in London . Since 1923 it has been held at Wembley Stadium , English football's national stadium. In the period from 2001-2005, the finals were moved to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff , whilst Wembley was rebuilt. With the builders unable to guarantee completion in time for the 2006 final, they announced that Wembley would not host it, and the Millennium Stadium would do so instead.

Those teams highlighted in bold won both The Football League (up to 1992 ) or the FA Premier League (since 1992 ) as well as the FA Cup; this is known as '' The Double '' in English football. Teams from outside the top Level Of English Football are in ''italics''. In 1993, it was decided that FA Cup Final replays would be abolished.
