Information About

Expert Field Medical Badge

The Expert Field Medical Badge is a decoration of the United States Army which was first created in 1965 . The badge is the non-combat equivalent to the Combat Medical Badge and is awarded to any medical personnel of the United States Army who successfully complete a qualification test battery of field medical examinations. This badge is also authorized for wear by United States Air Force medical personnel that meet the same requirements.

For those personnel who receive the Expert Field Medical Badge, and then later receive the Combat Medical Badge, Army regulations prohibit the wearing of both decorations simultaneously. In such cases, the Combat Medical Badge has precedence according to Army Regulation manual 670-1.

The infantry equivalent of the Expert Field Medical Badge is the Expert Infantryman Badge .
