2. There are several books of the Bible or Apocrypha which have been labelled , after the Greek for Ezra . The Vulgate contains four Books of Esdras, and the Septuagint three; but confusingly, the numbering of the books differs between them. The most common naming system used in modern times, is yet again different. It is the modern nomenclature which is used in Wikipedia. See the comparison tables below:
Note that in the Septugaint, following ancient Jewish practice, Ezra and Nehemiah are considered one book (Εσδρας B′), whereas most bibles today count them as two, as does the Vulgate.
