Eric Gerets (born May 15 , 1954 in Rekem , Belgium ) was a successful Belgian Football Defender and is now the coach of Turkish team Galatasaray SK of Istanbul . As a defender, he played for Rekem, Standard De Liège , AC Milan , MVV Maastricht and PSV Eindhoven , winning a.o. 2 Belgian Championships and 6 Dutch Championships . As a manager, he worked successively for Lierse SK , Club Brugge , PSV Eindhoven , 1. FC Kaiserslautern , and VfL Wolfsburg before joining the Turkish side at the end of the 2004-2005 season. He is the second most capped player for the Belgium National Football Team along with Franky Van Der Elst . REFERENCES |
