Englishtown is a Borough located in Monmouth County , New Jersey . As of the United States 2000 Census , the borough had a total population of 1,764. GEOGRAPHY Englishtown is located at 40°17'45" North, 74°21'35" West (40.295965, -74.359821). According to the United States Census Bureau , the borough has a total area of 1.5 Km&2 (0.6 Mi&2 ). 1.5 km&2 (0.6 mi&2) of it is land and 1.72% is water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,764 people, 643 households, and 416 families residing in the borough. The Population Density was 1,194.9/km&2 (3,102.1/mi&2). There were 680 housing units at an average density of 460.6/km&2 (1,195.8/mi&2). The racial makeup of the borough was 88.38% White , 4.14% African American , 0.11% Native American , 4.48% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 1.64% from Other Races , and 1.25% from two or more races. 6.24% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 643 households out of which 39.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were Married Couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.3% were non-families. 28.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.51. In the borough the population was spread out with 29.1% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 36.5% from 25 to 44, 17.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.4 males. The median income for a household in the borough was $57,557, and the median income for a family was $73,750. Males had a median income of $50,694 versus $33,068 for females. The Per Capita Income for the borough was $23,438. 7.2% of the population and 4.0% of families were below the Poverty Line . 5.7% of those under the age of 18 and 13.4% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line. GOVERNMENT Federal, state and county representation Englishtown is in the Twelfth Congressional District and is part of New Jersey's 12th Legislative District. EDUCATION Students in grades K - 8 attend the Manalapan Englishtown Regional School District , which also serves children from Manalapan Township . The district serves 5,555 students in seven schools, of which 301 are from Englishtown and 5,254 are from Manalapan Township. The district consists of seven schools: Three serving Grades K - 3 — Clark Mills (707 students), Milford Brook (796 students) and Taylor Mills (692 students) — three serving Grades 4 - 6 — Lafayette Mills (539 students), Pine Brook (880 students) and Wemrock Brook (571 students) — and Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School (1,348 students) serving Grades 7 and 8. Students in grades 9-12 attend Freehold Township High School , as part of the Freehold Regional High School District . The Freehold Regional High School District serves students from Colts Neck Township , Englishtown, Farmingdale , Freehold Borough , Freehold Township , Howell Township , Manalapan Township and Marlboro .
