The Village of Endicott is in the Town Of Union and is west of Binghamton, New York . The town is served by the Greater Binghamton Airport /Edwin A Link Field. It is part of the " Triple Cities ", along with Binghamton and Johnson City . HISTORY Part of Endicott was originally incorporated as "Union Village" in 1892 , but Endicott Village was consolidated with Union and named Endicott in 1921 . Endicott is part of the "Triple Cities," along with Johnson City and Binghamton . Endicott was the former site of "Tri-Cities College" of Syracuse University , which later became Harpur College and then Binghamton University . The location of Binghamton University is in the Town Of Vestal on Union's south border. GEOGRAPHY The village is on the north side of the Susquehanna River and the Southern Tier Expressway . Endicott is located at 42°6'11" North, 76°3'17" West (42.103074, −76.054687) ยน . According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 8.1 Km&2 (3.1 Mi&2 ). 8.1 km&2 (3.1 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 13,038 people, 5,996 households, and 3,015 families residing in the village. The Population Density was 1,603.2/km&2 (4,156.1/mi&2). There were 6,686 housing units at an average density of 822.1/km&2 (2,131.3/mi&2). The racial makeup of the village was 91.65% White , 3.75% African American , 0.25% Native American , 1.96% Asian , 0.07% Pacific Islander , 0.67% from Other Races , and 1.66% from two or more races. 1.67% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 5,996 households, out of which 24.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.4% were Married Couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 49.7% were non-families. 41.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.09 and the average family size was 2.88. In the village the population was spread out with 21.8% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 89.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.4 males. The median income for a household in the village was $26,032, and the median income for a family was $35,858. Males had a median income of $27,780 versus $21,320 for females. The Per Capita Income for the village was $17,274. 18.7% of the population and 15.4% of families were below the Poverty Line . 26.0% of those under the age of 18 and 10.7% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line. ADDITIONAL FACTS ABOUT ENDICOTT, NEW YORK Endicott is known as the birthplace of Computer s, because the company that became IBM was established there in 1906. Endicott also was the former home of the Endicott Johnson Corporation . Until 2006, the PGA TOUR 's B.C. Open was played each July at En-Joie Golf Course on the west side of the village. The stop was dropped from the tour in January 2006. Endicott also is the birthplace of Baseball 's four-time All-Star , Johnny Logan . Endicott, along with the surrounding cities, is known as the Carousel capital of the world. This is because George F.
