He was a son of Emperor Daigo and Empress Consort Onshi, a daughter of Fujiwara No Mototsune . During his reign Taira No Masakado staged a rebellion in the Kantō Region and denominated himself the new emperor, but the rebellion was eventually put down. He was succeeded by his younger brother, Emperor Murakami . |
