Empacher (company name '''Bootswerf Empacher GmbH ''') is a manufacturer of Boats . Originally building Sailing Yacht s, it was founded by Willy Empacher in 1923 in Königsberg , East Prussia . In 1952 they started producing racing Rowing shells, an enterprise that has become their main business today. They are currently based in Eberbach , Germany .

Empacher is world renowned for the quality of its Rowing Shells , and has traditionally been considered the best manufacturer in the world. The company's boats have an impressive number of international rowing wins, with about 60% using them in the World Championships and Olympic Games . 55% of the medals at the 2004 Olympics were won in Empachers.

Empacher shells are becoming increasing popular with schools, quickly replacing Janousek s especially in the Eights category. A popular combination for the top Eights are Concept2 blades with Empacher shells.


TYPES OF BOATS

Empacher is known not only for the success of their Racing Shells but, for their color as well. The only two colors that empacher offers is Yellow (much like highlighter) and Hot Pink .

They produce Singles, Pairs, Doubles, Quads, Coxed and Coxless Fours as well as Eights.
