It was created after the Khanate Of Bukhara was conquered by Nadir Shah and was ruled by Emir s of Manghit dynasty. As they were not descended from Genghis Khan , they took the lesser title of "emir." In 1920 it was turned into the Bukharan People's Soviet Republic and its territory currently lies mostly in Uzbekistan with parts in Tajikistan . |
