Emaar Properties PJSC ( development company founded in 1997 and based in the city of Dubai , United Arab Emirates . It owns several prominent properties in the area, including the Burj Dubai . Emaar is currently building the largest shopping mall on earth, The Dubai Mall , which has a planned approximate area of 12,500 000 sq. feet (gross area). This forms part of the greater Downtown Burj Dubai master plan, which features island parks, the old town island, and boulevard, which is a 3,5km long through-fare to the downtown district boarded by signature buildings designed by the world's most renowned architects (Dubai's own Champs-Elysees). On completion, the Downtown at Burj Dubai will provide living for over 100 000 people in the heart of Dubai's new downtown. Emaar is listed on the Dubai Financial Market . Since its founding, Emaar has grown to nearly US$8 Billion in assets, with annual gross sales of over US$1 billion. The company continues to grow rapidly, with revenues increasing 41% through 2004 . Today, Emaar is the richest and largest real estate company in the world in terms of market capitalization. Emaar has grown from Dubai and has expanded into other regions such as Morocco, Lebanon, India, Turkey, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, and are in talks with various other countries. Recently Emaar announced a partnership with SAGIA in Saudi Arabia to build King Abdulla Economic City . The vast new King Abdullah Economic City, valued at SR100 billion, the world’s largest single civil engineering contract. Recently Emaar has expanded into both finance and information technology. Giorgio Armani and Emaar had also partnered together forming the new company - Armani Group of Hotels. The first Armani hotel will be constructed in Dubai at its prestigious Burj Dubai, the heart of Downtown Dubai. General Manager of the Emaar group is the Emirati Mohamed Al Abbar. INVESTMENTS IN MOROCCO Together with Dubai-Holding, EMAAR in March 2006 signed a plan to invest USD 9 billion in tourism projects.
