Lawrence E. Elkins High School is a Secondary School in Missouri City, Texas .

The school, which handles grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Fort Bend Independent School District . Elkins was established in 1992, with its first graduating class in 1995.

  • ---won UIL 5A Texas State Championships in 1995, 2002, and 2003. Only the 2nd team in the history of Texas 5A baseball to win back-to-back State Championships

  • ---Only 5A school to play in four consecutive State tournaments (2000-2003)

  • ---5A Runer-Up in 1998

  • ---Kip Wells who played on the 1995 State Championship team, now currently pitches professionally for the Pittsburgh Pirates and 2002 graduate James Loney plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers

  • ---Baseball America and USA Today National Champions in 2002.

  • ---2004 graduate Spencer Jackson now at Texas A&M University , set the State Tournament record with an .857 batting average in the 2003 tournament.

  • ---Spencer Jackson and Wardell Starling share the State Tournament record for monst hits in a single game with four.

  • ---Colleen Gordon finished the 2006 UIL Swim Meet as a 2 time State Champion – an Elkins first in swimming. Colleen won the 200 yard Individual Medley race with a time of 2:01.27. In the 500 yard Freestyle event, Colleen swam to a new state record with a 4:45.67 effort. With her two wins and state record performance Gordon also was named the State Female Swimmer of the Year.
