Information About

Elisabeth Delmas

Elisabeth Delmas is a character from the French Animated Television Series '' Code Lyoko ''.

DESCRIPTION

Elisabeth is the daughter of Jean-Pierre Delmas , who is the principal of Kadic Junior High School . She is 13 years old, 5.33' tall, of French descent, and weighs 110.2 pounds. She commonly goes by the name of Sissi, since she hates being called Elisabeth.

She mostly wears an attachable dark red skirt (seen detached in "Tip-Top Shape") over darker red pants, and a pink, puffy-sleeved shirt with a heart on it that exposes her midriff. She also wears Platform Shoes which make her taller and a yellow headband. On her ears are hoop earrings. She's appeared in just her underwear and bra (which are pink in color) in three separate episodes, including the first one. This is usually followed by some sort of comedic or lightly-sexual situation.

DISCUSSION

Being the principal's daughter grants Sissi something of a free reign at Kadic, since she can convince her father to let her and other people get away with things that they normally wouldn't. The group has often had to rely on her as either a distraction or a tool of manipulation over the principal.

Sissi, in a way typical of Popular Girl s, considers herself to be the most attractive and beautiful girl at Kadic (says so directly several times over the course of the series, though Ulrich disagrees). She is attracted to Ulrich (who does not feel the same way) and is jealous of Yumi (whom Ulrich is attracted to). This leads to tension between them.

Undoubtedly snobbish and somewhat spoiled (not to mention a Control Freak , as heard in "Teddygozilla" when she silences the crowd in the gym), during the first season, she only rarely showed a more empathic side. Her empathic side usually came out in tense situations, especially when she was trapped in a room with others. Examples of this are seen in "The Trap" and "Claustrophobia", and to an extent in "Log Book". In the episode "Holiday in the Fog", she admits to Jim that all she wants is to be accepted by Jeremie and the others. Her spoiledness and superiority complex proves to be an obstacle, however, as shown in various episodes. She also has developed a bad reputation among her fellow students at Kadic for being a bully, controller, and an all-around spoiled brat.

During the second season, Sissi has softened considerably, and she and the group have been exceptionally civil towards each other; almost friends. Like Jim, Sissi is very suspicious of the group. She, too, has also seen the factory on two occasions, both of which were undone by Return Trips . She even ended up dating Odd over the Internet in the episode "Déjà Vu", though neither of them were aware of the other's identity. Odd ended up finding out, but Sissi was left in the dark. She seems to be fighting with him a lot less now, however, and vice-versa.

Sissi is an aspiring actress, and makes an appearance in nearly every television or movie-themed episode. She is usually in one of Odd's various movies or music videos. In the episode "End of Take", she manages to get a part in the movie being made by .

TRIVIA

  • Sissi, like Ulrich and Yumi , knows Pencak Silat . She admits that she took classes specifically to impress Ulrich, in the episode "Ultimatum". It didn't work, as she says, but it did impress Aelita. In that episode, she used her skills to knock Jeremie unconscious at Aelita's request. She also operated the supercomputer at Aelita's request, starting the Virtualization process. A Return Trip wiped out any memory she had of the experience. Since Ulrich told her that it would happen, she kissed him right before the event, knowing that he would remember it.

  • The sleeves on Sissi's belly shirt have changed color in the transition between the first and second seasons. In the first season, they were pink. In the second season, they are now orange.

  • In "Is Anybody Out There?", Sissi conducted a Seance to attempt to communicate with the dead worker Leon Corbet. She also called a Pentagram a " Pentathlon ," indicating her unfamiliarity with the practice.

  • Sissi was on the cheerleading squad at Kadic in the episode "Zero Gravity Zone". She lost her baton when Xana's attack caused it to become weightless and fly off into space. No mention of a cheerleading squad is made in the second season.

  • Like how Odd refers to Jeremie as "Einstein," Sissi refers to Aelita as "Mrs. Einstein."

  • In the episode "Tip-Top Shape", it is comically discovered that Sissi is five pounds overweight, or above the perfect weight, though she won't accept that fact.

  • Sissi does not do very well in her studies, and she often gets poor grades because of her academic performance.

  • Sissi's first name and her dislike of its use may come from Elisabeth Of Bavaria , who also preferred to be called "Sissi." The fact that Elisabeth was a princess may also explain the source of her Spoiledness in the first season.

  • Some believe that Sissi will become romantically involved with Odd in the future, as small signs of care for one another can be found in the episodes "Just in Time", "Déjà Vu", and "Is Anybody Out There?", with "Déjà Vu" being the major instance. She fights with him a lot less after that episode, and vice versa. However, Odd stated in "The Key" that he would rather look like a loser and go to the dance alone than go with someone like Sissi. It has been confirmed by the writers and producers of '' Code Lyoko '' that Odd will get a permanent girlfriend, though they have not given a specific name. Most of the girls at school, except for Sissi in some respects, have dumped him and think of him as a self-centered, conceited guy.
