Dry Creek , Gillman , Greenfields , Largs North , Mawson Lakes , North Haven , Osborne , Ottoway , Outer Harbor , Taperoo , Wingfield as well as parts of Bolivar , Gepps Cross , Globe Derby Park , Largs Bay , Parafield Gardens , Peterhead , Pooraka , Rosewater and St Kilda . Port Adelaide has had three incarnations as a South Australian electoral district. It was first used as district in the Legislative Council , from 1851 until 1856 , From 1856 onwards, it became on of 17 House of Assembly districts, with multi-member representation. In 1938 , it became a single member district, until its abolition in 1969 . From then until the 2002 State Election , the area was served by the Electoral District Of Semaphore and the Electoral District Of Hart respectively. Since it became a single member district in 1938, the seat has continually been held by the Australian Labor Party , usually with a large margin. The current member Kevin Foley , is the Treasurer of South Australia , having previously held Hart since 1993. At the 2006 State Election , Foley increased his margin from 21.7% to an even safer 25.7%. Aside from the booth at Mawson Lakes , Labor gained a majority in all other booths.
