The electorate is based on the northern end of the Gold Coast . It includes South Stradbroke Island as well as Labrador , Paradise Point , Runaway Bay and Sanctuary Cove . Since 2001 the local member has been Peta Kaye-Croft of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), one of a number of ALP candidates who were successful on the Gold Coast for the first time at this election. |
