It is located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane , encompassing Alderly , Ashgrove , Enoggera , The Gap , and Newmarket . The electorate also contains the Enoggera Army Barracks and the Enoggera Reservoir, a state forest. Jim Fouras of the Australian Labor Party is the current Member for Ashgrove, a former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly who has been in parliament since 1989 . He has announced he will retire at the next state election. |
