Information About

Ed Lange

Ed Lange ( 1920 - 1995 ) was an American author of several classic Nudist pictorial books. He was very active in the Western Sunbathing Association and in the first stirrings of the Free Beach Movement in the 1960s in California .

He was a nudist Photographer of great fame, and a Publisher of many nudist pamphlets and magazines showing the nudist lifetyle to the general public. As well as founding Elysium Inc., Publishers , he was the founder and president of the Elysium Institute in Topanga Canyon , California , and a Vice-President of the International Naturist Federation . His Free Love ideals placed him in the Sexual Revolution movement of the 1960s and 1970s .

Lange was a controversial figure in American nudism; the controversy was largely centred around assertions that his nudist publications were Child Pornography . Nikki Craft has been one of his most prominent critics on this issue. Lange and Craft both appeared together on Jenny Jones (Aired on December 18, 1992) where the topic was discussed.
