The first version of Easy CD-DA Extractor was created by Jukka Poikolainen on
December 25 ,
1997 . The original name of the software, which was released in
January ,
1998 was "CD-Wizard". Since another program named "CD-Wizzard" already existed, Jukka was forced to change the name of the software to avoid potential
Copyright Infringement . The name was changed to "CD-DA Extractor". Later in 1998, the name of the software was extended to "Easy CD-DA Extractor".
Easy CD-DA Extractor contains three modules; ''Audio CD Ripper'', ''Audio File Format Converter'', and ''Audio CD Creator''.
''Audio CD Ripper'' copies audio CDs, even copy-protected ones, to choosen output format. It also includes
Freedb support, error recovery reading modes, metadata/ID3 editing, and advanced audio processing.
''Audio File Format Converter'' converts audio files from one format to another. Conversion is possible from and to all supported formats. It also contains metadata/ID3 editing, and advanced audio processing.
''Audio CD Creator'' writes standard audio CDs from all supported audio file formats with
CD-Text support.
Easy CD-DA Extractor supports many popular audio formats including
