The East African cricket team was a Cricket team representing Kenya , Tanzania and Uganda . An "East African Invitation XI" played MCC in 1963 - 64 , but East Africa first played under that specific name against India in 1967 . East Africa appeared in the 1975 World Cup and the 1979 , 1982 and 1986 ICC Trophies ; in the last two of these the Kenyan Cricket Team was also represented, so that East Africa was effectively a Tanzanian/Ugandan team. East Africa was an Associate Member of the ICC from 1966 to 1989 , after which its place was taken by East And Central Africa . SEE ALSO
