Dyson was the first company to manufacture a Vacuum Cleaner that uses Cyclonic Separation . The creator, James Dyson , created the dual cyclone system after he found that he had to keep replacing the Dust bags in his Vacuum Cleaner even when they were not full. HISTORY James Dyson unveiled his first vacuum cleaner, the G Force , in 1990. It won the 1991 International Design Fair prize in Japan , and the Japanese were so impressed that they licensed the product and began to sell the vacuum cleaners for $2000 each. Using the income from the Japanese licence, James Dyson set up the Dyson company. In June 1993 , he opened a research centre and factory in Wiltshire . He created a new vacuum cleaner, the DC01 , which had stronger suction and could pick up particles the size of cigarette smoke. OTHER PRODUCTS An early product, now discontinued, was the Dyson Ballbarrow . Dyson developed a Washing Machine with Contrarotator technology, which used two drums spinning in opposite directions for a better wash. The washing machine was marketed under the Slogan ''Two drums are better than one''. Dyson's next washing machine was the CR02, which was available in two versions, the Flowcheck and Allergy models. The company has since stopped making washing machines because they were unprofitable. {Link without Title} ALL THE VACUUM CLEANERS Dyson DC01 The first model, an 'upright' vacuum cleaner. The DC01 was the first Vacuum Cleaner made by Dyson priced for use in a normal Household . It used Patent ed Dual Cyclone technology created by James Dyson . It was released in 1993 and was a best seller in the UK . Dyson DC02 First cylinder (canister) model. The Dyson DC02 was the second Domestic , mass produced Vacuum Cleaner sold by Dyson . It was designed to be smaller and easier to carry than the preceding DC01 . Its shape allowed it to sit on Stair s and this design was named "''stair-hugging''" by Dyson. The cleaner features an extendable hose designed to work around corners and objects. To the rear of the machine, there is a Pedal which retracts the cable back into the cleaner. It uses the patented Cyclone system designed by company founder, James Dyson . This model is commonly duplicated by Asian manufacturers, presumably because the more complicated Dyson models (dual cyclone models etc.) have better protected patents.

The DC14 is one of the newest Vacuum Cleaner s available from Dyson priced for use in a normal Household market. The Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner uses Dyson's Root 8 Cyclone technology created by James Dyson , which maintains powerful constant suction. The DC14 comes in four different varients, the standard DC14, the All Floors, the Allergy and the Animal. More of the Dyson DC14 units are currently sold than the newer DC15 vacuum cleaner; The DC14 is considered to be Dysons most popular product at the moment. Offical Dyson DC14 Page. Dyson DC15 Latest product. It has a Ball instead of a Wheel which in conjunction with a Universal Joint on the cleaner head makes it possible to steer the machine simply by twisting the handle to the right or left. The Dyson DC15 is the newest Vacuum Cleaner available from Dyson priced for use in a normal Household market. Dyson's original inspiration for his cyclone vacuum cleaners was a particle extraction system in the factory creating one of his early products the Ballbarrow . The unit kept blocking, Dyson thought that a cyclone would fix this problem. He was then inspired to turn the technology to vacuum cleaners and the rest is history. With Dyson DC15 and it's ‘Ball’ design, Dyson's design process has come full circle including the key design feature of the product that help inspire the vacuum cleaner that made the company such a success. The Ball uses Dyson's advanced Root Cyclone technology created by James Dyson and gives you no loss of suction. The Ball was released in 2005 in three different variants, the Dyson DC15 All Floors, Allergy and Animal. Offical Dyson DC15 Page. FEATURES OF A DYSON VACUUM CLEANER The defining feature of a Dyson is the visible and distinctive Cyclone. Dyson vacuum cleaners come in bold colours, in order to make them stand out in shops. The DC05 is dark blue and light green— neutral colours intended to be attractive to either gender. Dysons are shaped very differently from other vacuum cleaners. The DC05 has an unusual shape which "hugs" or "sits on" the stairs. The DC11 is futuristic and modern-looking, with a Cyclone on either side and tubing wrapped around the main body. NEW TECHNOLOGY As well as improving the suction of the Cyclone, Dyson has introduced many Ergonomic features. The latest vacuum cleaner now has a ball to replace the wheels, which makes it easier to move and relieves stress on the Spine and exercises the Biceps and Triceps . EXTERNAL LINKS |
