Dover Beaches North is a Census-designated Place and Unincorporated area located within Dover Township , in Ocean County , New Jersey . As of the United States 2000 Census , the CDP had a total population of 1,785. GEOGRAPHY Dover Beaches North is located at 39°59'29" North, 74°3'55" West (39.991367, -74.065405). According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 4.1 Km&2 (1.6 Mi&2 ). 2.5 km&2 (1.0 mi&2) of it is land and 1.6 km&2 (0.6 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 38.75% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,785 people, 974 households, and 529 families residing in the CDP. The Population Density was 703.3/km&2 (1,821.8/mi&2). There were 4,119 housing units at an average density of 1,622.8/km&2 (4,203.9/mi&2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.82% White , 0.11% African American , 0.11% Native American , 0.50% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.45% from two or more races. 1.46% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 974 households out of which 9.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were Married Couples living together, 5.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.6% were non-families. 42.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 24.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.83 and the average family size was 2.44. In the CDP the population was spread out with 9.0% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 18.2% from 25 to 44, 30.7% from 45 to 64, and 38.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 58 years. For every 100 females there were 90.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.0 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,125, and the median income for a family was $58,125. Males had a median income of $57,917 versus $32,083 for females. The Per Capita Income for the CDP was $32,613. 5.4% of the population and 2.6% of families were below the Poverty Line . 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 4.3% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
