CHARACTERS Selto Durka A Peacekeeper captain of great renown, Durka was also an inveterate sadist, and frequently tortured prisoners that came under his supervision. In Farscape , he was particularly known for torturing Rygel . Xhalax Sun Xhalax is the estranged mother of Aeryn Sun , who left her daughter to continue her career in the Peacekeeper corps. Xhalax is first seen in season three of the series, as the leader of a Peacekeeper retrieval squad sent to recapture Talyn . Furlow Stranded on a hot desert planet, John Crichton encountered Furlow in her repair shop, where she successfully repaired the decidedly primitive and alien technology. In payment, Furlow demanded Crichton's observations of a nearby wormhole, which she spent the next two years investigating as a basis for a Phase Stabilizer. She intended to sell the technology to all of the major power blocs in the galaxy, believing that this course of action would make her very rich. War Minister Akhna Akhna (''Ahhna'') is an upper-caste member of the Scarran race, played by Francesca Buller . She is a Minister of War throughout the later bulk of the series, showing that Scarrans have gender parity within the upper castes (lower-caste Scarran troops have been seen as only males). Emperor Staleek Emperor Staleek is the Scarran emperor, played by Duncan Young . He first appeared in the "We're So Screwed" three-part story in season 4. He took an active role in the Peacekeeper - Scarran war, personally capturing John Crichton at Arnessk and later being present at the battle over the unnamed water planet where John Crichton unleashed a wormhole weapon and forced the two sides to make peace. Crichton mockingly calls him Emperor Sleestak, a play on the spelling of his name and also a smug reference to '' Land Of The Lost '', an obscure 1970s Sci-Fi TV show, presumably remembered from John Crichton's youth. Jothee Jothee is the half-Luxan/half-Sebacean son of Ka D'argo and his late wife Lo'Laan, played by Matthew Newton, and later by Nathaniel Dean. He was estranged from his father, who left him in the care of others. Unfortunately, he somehow became enslaved, and mutilated his Luxan features as the result of teasing and abuse. He is known for his affair with Chiana , who was also romantically linked with D'argo. Jack Crichton Jonathan Robert "Jack" Crichton, Sr. is a retired astronaut and the father of John Crichton ; Jack is played by Kent McCord . A member of the Ancients took on his form when conversing with John Crichton . Initially this was to fool John while studying human reactions (for a possible colonisation of Earth). Following John seeing his true form, the illusion was retained for unknown reasons. Dominar Bishan Nearly 165 cycles prior to the events of Farscape , Bishan helped to depose Dominar Rygel XVI while he was sleeping, and ascended the throne of his home planet, Hyneria . He turned over his brother to the Peacekeepers , who subsequently imprisoned the deposed Dominar on the living prison transport Moya . Immediately prior to the disruptive arrival of John Crichton , Dominar Rygel acquired the codes to free himself and the other prisoners, thus leading to their escape. Vowing to return to Hyneria and rectify his cousin's betrayal and retake the throne, Dominar Rygel XVI tried to persuade his fellow escapees, especially the Luxan Warrior, Ka D'Argo to help him. He met with little success, and Bishan's rule remained unchallenged for some time. However, while aboard Scorpius ' Command Carrier, Dominar Rygel XVI learned that Bishan's rule was in disarray and was hopeful that if he returned to Hyneria, he would be able to easily retake his throne. A cycle later, Bishan sent a holographic message to Dominar Rygel XVI, reaching him aboard Moya during the height of the ongoing intergalactic war raging between the Scarrans and the Peacekeepers. Bishan begged Dominar Rygel XVI to return to his home planet of Hyneria and help to unite the 16 billion subjects of Hyneria. Dominar Rygel IX '''Rygel IX'' was a militarily aggressive Dominar of Hyneria , the leader of the victorious Hynerian forces at the Battle of Katreen. He apparently fought in the vanguard of his forces, rather than from the rear like most Hynerian commanders.[http://www.farscape-1.com/index.php?title=Dominar%20Rygel%20IX His victories are thought to be part of the Hynerian repulse of the Charrids, during the founding days of the Hynerian Empire.
