''Disco Bloodbath: A Fabulous but True Tale of Murder in Clubland'' is a 1999 memoir written by James St. James about the life of Michael Alig and his Club Kids of the New York City Club Scene . The book specifically chronicles Alig's rise to fame and his subsequent murder of fellow club kid and alleged drug dealer Angel Melendez . St. James was Alig's mentor in the scene, giving him a very personal view into the story, which comes through in the book. The memoir was later renamed '' Party Monster '' after the motion picture was made based on the book starring Macaulay Culkin , Seth Green , and Chloë Sevigny . ISBN 0684857642 |
