''DigiDestined'' is a term for children who are selected (some would say drafted) to protect the Digital World from the forces of evil. In Digimon Adventure and 02 , a DigiDestined is defined by possession of a Digivice , and a link to a Digimon partner, in whom they can induce Digivolution . Apparently, only children who have seen Digimon before can become DigiDestined. By the time of the epilogue to the second season, almost everyone on Earth has a Digimon partner, though only few can be deemed as "DigiDestined".
