Dhokla




The dish can be made of ground ''chana dal'' ( Chickpea s) soaked overnight; other recipes call for Flour . This paste is spiced by adding Chile Pepper , Ginger , and Baking Soda , then left for Fermentation for four to five hours. The ''dhokla'' is then steamed for about ten minutes on a flat dish and cut into cake-like pieces. It is usually served with green Chutney and chopped Onion s, or some grated Coconut . ''Dhokla'' can also be Fried further with Mustard for extra Spiciness .
