Dennis Publishing Ltd.

Dennis Publishing Ltd. is one of the world’s leading independent publishers. Founded in 1974 , the group consists of a number of operating companies in both the UK and USA. It is a fast growing independently owned media company, with aturnover exceeds £200 million a year.

The company publishes 19 magazines in the UK (including '' MacUser '', '' Maxim '', '' Auto Express '', '' PC Pro '', '' Viz '', '' Fortean Times '' and '' The Week '') and four titles in the US (''Maxim'', '' Stuff '', '' Blender '' and ''The Week''). Maxim is published in 21 editions in 32 countries.

Dennis Publishing is owned by Felix Dennis .

Dennis himself started out in the magazine business in the late 1960s as one of the editors of the Counterculture magazine '' OZ ''. In the mid-70s, Dennis Publishing was born, bringing out a Kung-fu magazine just as that Craze was kicking off.

Dennis followed this up in the early 1980s by publishing titles in the soon-to-be-lucrative Computer Enthusiast sector, including '' Your Spectrum '' (re-named later as Your Sinclair and sold to Future Publishing ). Dennis has since maintained a foothold in the computer magazine business - until Maxim's success in the US in the late Nineties , computer magazines were the mainstay of Dennis' magazine holdings, second only to Future Publishing in the UK.
